I’m shamelessly addicted to those “Ipod Shuffle” posts that everyone does on Myspace or Facebook. I don’t tend to do the other questionares (unless I’m really, really bored) but I do love the music ones. So when I saw my old college roommate, Claire, had posted one, I wanted in (and I told her so).

Basically it boils down to this: Put your ipod/itunes/other music player on shuffle and press play. The first five songs that come up, explain yourself. Play along in the comments or at home.

Because I am not one to follow the rules, I am skipping any “songs” that are actually comedy albums. I have a lot of those and it’s supposed to be about the music.

I’m also doing 10 songs. Because I want to.

1. Island In The Sun-Weezer
I love this song and Weezer is one of my favorite bands. I don’t need to explain this one because it is a fucking awesome song.

2. Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer-Elmo & Patsy
What can I say? I like Christmas music and this one is pretty damn funny.

3. Sweet Child O’ Mine-Guns N’ Roses
A classic rock song, you can’t go wrong with some GN’R. I am reminded of my older cousin David and how much he loved GN’R, and sometimes reminded me of Axl Rose. But don’t tell him that.

4. Voodoo Doll-Fergie
I like this album to work out to, it’s upbeat and full of poppy songs that help keep the heart rate up. I don’t like this one as much. I still remember her as Stacy from Kids Incorporated! How I coveted their clothes. Horrible, I know.

5. I Just Wanna Get Along-The Breeders
This is what I listened to in high school–I thought I was edgy and alternative because no one else at my high school had really heard of them. Weird, I know.

6. The Trouble With Love Is-Kelly Clarkson
Don’t front. Kelly can sing. I’m not in love with her first album, but the girl can sing.

7. Hound Dog-Elvis Presley
Who doesn’t love the king? It’s actually from the Forrest Gump Soundtrack, which I listened to all the time in high school.

8. This is Such A Pity-Weezer
Hells yeah! Two Weezer songs? The Awesome. Bill really likes this song too.

9. Money Changes Everything-Cyndi Lauper
When we were kids, my cousin and I pretended we were Cyndi Lauper and Madonna. This was when Madonna had brown hair, so I was stuck being her. I totally wanted to be Cyndi.

10. Top of The World-The All-American Rejects
This one of the few current bands I like. I’m not even sure if they are still current, but they were when I was in college. Most music now is crap. Yeah yeah, I know, “that’s a nice story, grandma”.

Not too bad. Only a few questionable ones in the mix.
